Complaint concerning the Emergency Contingent Charge for Electrified Covered Areas (EETHDE)

The plenary of the country’s Bar Associations demands the initial tax paid by the owners of real properties through the Hellenic Public Power Corporation bills (Emergency Contingent Charge for Electrified Covered Areas-EETHDE) from 2011 to 2012, by an additional intervention to the Supreme Court of Greece. The intervention was made for the benefit of the Consumers’ Union, which has resorted to the State Courts against EETHDE and the case has been submitted to trial before the plenary of the Supreme Court on 23.4.15, after a decision made by the Fourth Chamber of the Supreme Court deeming the emergency tax anti-constitutional with a borderline majority (3-2).
