Victor Tsilonis is appointed as ICCBA National Focal Point for Greece


On 6 November 2017 the Executive Council of the International Criminal Court Bar Assosiation (ICCBA-ABCPI) unanimously approved Dr. Victor Tsilonis' appointment as ICCBA National Focal Point for Greece.

The role and responsibilities of an ICCBA National Focal Point include inter alia:

1.     To explain the role of the ICCBA-ABCPI to list counsel in your Country and encourage counsel to sign up as members of the ICCBA.

2.    To explain the work and jurisdiction of the ICC to counsel, legal assistants and eligible support staff in your country.

3.    To act as a conduit between list counsel/ICCBA members in your country in order to convey any suggestions, concerns or recommendations they may have regarding the work of the ICCBA

4.     To act as a liaison, where required, between the President and the Executive Council of the ICCBA and your national Bar in order to explain the role of the ICCBA and any opportunities for collaboration.

Dr. Victor Tsilonis stated that "I would dearly like to thank ICCBA's President Kharim Khan as well as all the ICCBA's Executive Council members for their trust. It's a great honour to become the ICCBA's Focal Point for Greece for the first time; I will strive for making ICCBA's presence known to all esteemed colleagues who are practising criminal law in Greece and are also eligible to be included in the List of Counsel of the International Criminal Court as well as become members of the International Criminal Court Bar Association".
