A 36-year-old from Amaliada, who had been unanimously convicted to a 22-year imprisonment by the Three Member Felonies Appellate Court of Patra in 2012, could hardly believe his ears when he heard the decision of the Five Member Felonies Appellate Court of Patra that declared him triumphantly innocent!

 The 36-year-old (now former) convict had been found guilty for a series of robberies, illegal arm-possession and gun-use three years ago. Initially, the court had inflicted imprisonment of 22 years on the defendant for the robberies and two additional years for illegal arm-possession and gun-use, thus sending him to the Nigrita Prisons of Serres. The aforementioned felonies had been committed during 2008 and 2009 in several night clubs in the area of Lechaina, New Manolada and Mirsini. The court, after a thorough re-evaluation of the evidence that concerned the robberies, found the 36-year-old innocent for his involvement in the cases.
