The massive protests of hundreds of residents in the Municipality of Pylaia-Hortiatis in Thessaloniki concerning the removal of a dangerous mobile network antenna forced the company to have the installation taken down, even before the final court decision. The camouflaged antenna, which had been installed by Cosmote next to the second primary school of Pylaia, the kindergarten and the childcare station of the area, was for months like a red rag to a bull as far as the residents were concerned, who on the one hand resorted to justice and on the other hand participated massively under the central motto “out with the death antennas”.

The Municipality of Pylaia-Hortiatis sided with the people. After months and months of protests on behalf of the municipality and the residents, Cosmote took down the dangerous to the public health antenna before the final court decision was issued, which authorized the legal services to apply all lawful means necessary to have the particular antenna removed, and any other that threatens the residents’ health.
