The 60-year-old mother of Tsakalou brothers, Athina Tsakalou, rejects her release from prison and requests her son’s 25-year-old girlfriend to be released. The 60-year-old and her two sons are accused of participating in the organization ‘Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei’.

 The Writ of Chamber of Appeal grants her release from prison on probation and on bail payment of 10.000 euros. However, the 60-year-old refuses to be released, unless her son is simultaneously released as well.

 The Chamber of Appeal had ruled on her release in majority, with votes 2-1, while on the contrary the correspondent request of the 25-year-old had been declined. On the 25-year-old defendant’s petition the following are mentioned: “At no point is there any other kind of relationship or collaboration with the rest of the people mentioned in the indictment, or any other illicit behavior on my behalf. On the contrary, my fellow defendants are my life-partner Yerasimos Tsakalos, with whom I have signed a cohabitation agreement, and his brother Christos… There is no evidence in the voluminous legal files to suggest, even in the form of indication, my participation in the organization where my life partner is a member”.
