Criminal Prosecutions concerning the Volvi Case

Criminal prosecutions concerning the criminal devastavit for damages that exceed the amount of 1,500,000 euros are provided in the legal files of the District Court Prosecutor of Thessaloniki with regard to the case of the complementary contracts for the expansion of the city plan of Arethousa and Egnatia in the Municipality of Volvi.

In fact, the prosecutions include powerhouses of the Municipality of Thessaloniki and mainly planning executives. The European Union has also been involved in the issue by imposing fines. The Municipality of Thessaloniki, on the other hand, has made the following announcement: “The Municipality of Thessaloniki has repeatedly indicated the omissions of both the central administration and the municipalities that assigned the Expansion Projects of the Cadastral Survey and the Plans for Spatial and Residential Organization of Open City, which were deemed illegal by the European Court of Justice.

It expresses reservation for the necessary actions, when the time comes, and shall ‘respond’ yet once more, by holding to account anyone responsible, to whatever concerns the opposing of any illegal claims of the contractor and the compliance with the European Court of Justice decision and the European Commission accusations.”
