Court of First Instance stops the baptism of minor

With his petition filed before the court, the Muslim father, opposed his daughter’s baptism in accordance with the Eastern Orthodox Church standards and notified the parish priest that he disagrees with the ceremony. The One Member Court of First Instance stipulated during the restraining order process that, since both parents have custody of the child, the baptism and name-giving cannot take place in the context of the minor’s custody but consent of both parents who share custody is required. Therefore, the minor may be baptized only after a final judgement that gives custody solely to the mother.
