The Greek Police Department for the Protection of Minors in Thessaloniki was promptly mobilized, when after relevant reports via telephone and extended search a man was tracked down and arrested for molesting an 11-year-old child within the framework of crime proceedings for arrestable offenses.
The offender is a 58-year-old homeless Greek citizen, against whom a file has been formed for the offense of child harassment.
What brought about the offender’s instantaneous arrest were a nearby resident’s observation and his timely report to the police, after witnessing the offender’s suspicious movements on Sunday afternoon. The minor victim recognized the offender in the presence of a psychologist.
A second file was formed against the arrested, because a deliberation of Misdemeanour’s Judicial Council was pending concerning the violation of terms of confinement. In the past, the offender had been convicted for intentional homicide, arm-possession, robbery, cattle stealing, grave bodily injury and gun-use.
