Infant sale for 3.000 €

The shocking case of an infant sale was revealed on Monday night by police officers of Kalamata Police Department, who arrested four offenders. These were two Bulgarian women at the age of 24 and 35, a 56-year-old Greek gynecologist and a 35-year-old notary in Kalamata, against which charges were filed for the formation of a criminal organization and breach of law concerning the adoptions.

Based on the investigations that have taken place so far, there was a meeting of the arrested in the 35-year-old Bulgarian’s employment agency in Kalamata on February 12, where the newborn (only eight-day old) boy was delivered by the 24-year-old Bulgarian mother to the 35-year-old; she later delivered the boy to the gynecologist for the amount of 1,500 €, and she was to receive an additional amount of 1,500 €, after the conclusion of the notarial process.

At the same time the unfortunate infant remains missing, while the authorities seek desperately the family to which it was finally delivered. The arrested were brought before the Prosecutor of Kalamata.
